After working for years at a job where we could save up as much time off in lieu as we wanted to (I had about 20 hours worth shortly before I left), it's really hard for me to get used to my new job's policy of 'use it as soon as you earn it'. I don't want to take long lunches every week, even if we're busy! (We're currently in a situation where we have to do testing 7 days a week, so I pretty much earn 2 hours TIL every weekend). So my boss keeps having to encourage me to take it.

This afternoon I was basically told to leave early for my weekend trip to Hamilton, so I took the hint :)

Yeah it can be a real pain when you are expected to use up you TOIL but its too busy really for you to do so!
