FALL OUT BOY!!
Oct. 2nd, 2007 09:50 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Yesterday was seriously great! Most I've ever sweated in my life, but so worth it. Um, I'll try to be chronological here? Even though I just want to skip to the good bits.
I actually went to class in the morning, which was probably a good idea as it helped fill in time... after coming home I got dressed and then was at a loss what else to do. The sister arrived home from seeing her boyfriend and decided that what I was wearing wasn't good enough, so made me try on all of my clothes and some of hers too, only for me to end up in what I started with. When
stepps came to pick me up around 2:30 I was doing dishes, so I left those for the sister to do. We picked up Hannah's brother in Ngaruawahia and headed for Auckland... skip over the next 2 1/2 hours which were spent trying to get through fucking Auckland traffic - why the hell were so many people trying to go into the city at 4pm on a Monday? Picked up
jocondite at Epsom and fought back onto the motorway and through to Trusts Stadium, where we parked and hurried to the line where
jocondite's lovely friend (Michael? I'm terrible at names) had saved us a place ♥. The average age wasn't as low as I thought it would be, and I was also surprised by the number of guys there.
Doors opened! We were really quite close to the front of the line, and got a place fairly near the front (when the opening bands played we were about 10 people back?) on Pete's side. There was a lot of standing around doing nothing before the first opening band came on, and between the bands. They were both okay, though I only knew one song by Streetwise Scarlett and none by All Left Out. The pushing in the crowd was rather irritating, but obviously expected. I started feeling a bit dehydrated pretty fast, but there wasn't really much to be done about that, so.
After approximately forever Fall Out Boy came on, and rocked out! It was pretty much brilliant. The setlist was fairly similar to the Melbourne one, don't even ask me to remember what was different. It was great seeing all the stuff that I've heard about or seen on youtube, like Pete kissing Patrick's neck ♥ Basically every interaction between those boys made me squeal :P It just. All the boys were so great, and looked so happy! I couldn't help but smile through the whole thing even when I felt like I might pass out.

OMG PATRICK'S GRINNN!!!)
I had been trying to stay with the others but about halfway through FOB's set I gave up and just went where the crowd pushed me, which turned out to be an awesome move since where the crowd pushed me was 2 people back from the barrier \o/ (a good part of my appreciation for that was that I was finally close enough to get some water from the security guys). When Pete came into the crowd during Saturday I was carried along in the surge of the crowd and ended up only a couple of feet short of touching his hand - if my excitement at that makes me a pathetic fangirl what can you even call the guys who were quite seriously fighting over Pete's shirt which he threw into the crowd? It was a truly pathetic sight (they were still fighting when we left).
After it was over we managed to reunite and get out of there - dropped
jocondite home and got huge cokes from BK to sustain us all the way home, got back here about 1:30am (and managed to make it to my 9am lecture today!).
Lessons for next time (My Chem! 2 months!)
~Wear as little clothing as possible (how did people survive in hoodies? I had my jeans rolled up as far as I could, to try and catch what little air was available. And I almost lost my top, it got soaked and was falling off my shoulders)
~Arrive super-early
~Bring water, even if it's annoying to carry
~Camera - the searches were just a glance over, lots of people had them, and I don't want to miss getting pictures of teh gay
~Cut down on the eye makeup, it looks ridiculous afterwards when it's all smudged
~Reconsider wearing contacts - almost lost my glasses at the very end when the crowd I'd been leaning on lunged backwards after Pete's shirt.
So yeah. GREAT DAY, WOULD DO AGAIN. and I got to meet fangirls! though I didn't really talk much :/ NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
